Uday-Chopra4 Uday Chopra, late Yash Chopra’s younger son, started his film career by assisting Yash Chopra in the films LAMHE (1991), PARAMPARA (1993), DARR (1993) and DIL TO PAGAL HAI (1997).

He also assisted his elder brother Aditya Chopra in his debut film, DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE (1995), which became one of the largest grossers in the year of its release.

Uday Chopra made a successful debut as an actor, under his elder brother’s direction in MOHABBATEIN (2000), which was one of the top grossing films of the year.

He also played the lead in MERE YAAR KI SHAADI HAI (2002) and a cameo in MUJHSE DOSTI KAROGE (2002). He has acted in films produced by other banners as well, like SUPARI (2003) and CHARAS (2004).

Uday Chopra (as Ali) won the nation over in DHOOM (2004), which was one of the highest grossing Hindi films of the year.

He also played a lead character with NEAL ‘N’ NIKKI (2005). After the super success of DHOOM, its sequel DHOOM:2 (2006) also had a stellar performance by the youngest scion of the Chopra family. Uday also played the lead role in PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE (2010) which was also written and produced by him for YRF. He also starred in DHOOM:3 next to Aamir Khan in 2013.

Uday Chopra launched ‘Yomics’ - YRF Comics in 2012 in an endeavour to bring the comic art form of entertainment back and use the lure of films to help excite and entice the first lot of consumers. Under this umbrella four major comic series were created including DHOOM, HUM TUM, EK THA TIGER and a new character-based series - ‘Daya Prochu’ which is an anagram of Uday Chopra.

He’s currently the CEO of YRF Entertainment, a Hollywood based production company focused on developing, financing, and producing feature films and television for the United States and international market. Feature film releases under the umbrella include the opening film of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival - GRACE OF MONACO, starring Nicole Kidman, and THE LONGEST WEEK, starring Jason Bateman, Olivia Wilde, Billy Crudup and Jenny Slate.

YRF Entertainment's upcoming feature film projects include SEDUCING INGRID BERGMAN, which Arash Amel adapted from the eponymous novel by Chris Greenhalgh (COCO CHANEL & IGOR STRAVINSKY). YRF Entertainment is developing an English-language remake of KAHAANI, which Ann Peacock (CHRONICLES OF NARNIA) is adapting for Western audiences. In addition to its feature film business, YRF Entertainment has recently entered the English-language television space. Its upcoming TV slate includes FREUD, a dramatic series based on the work and personal life of Sigmund Freud, written by Danielle Barros, and THE NYE INCIDENTS, based on the graphic novel created by Whitley Strieber, author of over twenty books including the inspiration for THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW and multiple New York Times bestsellers.

On 14th February 2023, Netflix globally launched iconic film-maker Yash Chopra & Yash Raj Films’ rich cultural legacy of 50 years in a new docu-series titled
'THE ROMANTICS’. The star-studded, four-part docu-series features 35 leading voices of the Hindi film industry and dives into the history of Bollywood through the lens of YRF’s impact in making Bollywood a household name globally. THE ROMANTICS has been produced by YRF Entertainment, directed by Smriti Mundhra and Uday Chopra is the Executive Producer.
